AI Video Relight

Change the lighting, the mood and the colour tone of a clip after it was shot. The subject, the motion and the camera work stay untouched.

  • Lighting presets or a reference image
  • Motion and camera work preserved
  • Fix a clip instead of reshooting it
  • Cost shown before you submit

How to relight a video

Relighting a clip is the same decision as relighting a photo, applied across every frame, so it rewards a clear idea of the look you want.

  1. 01

    Upload a short clip

Choose a clip that is in focus and steady. The tool works on short clips, and the accepted formats, length and size are shown on the upload step before anything is sent.

  2. 02

    Set the light you want

Pick a lighting preset, add a few words of detail such as warm sunset glow on the face, or upload a reference image whose light you want the clip to take on.

  3. 03

Review the price, then run it

The estimated cost appears before you submit. When the run finishes, play it through and compare it with the original clip, watching the faces and the edges of moving objects.

What video relighting gives you

Reshoot without reshooting

A clip that was filmed under the wrong light, at the wrong time of day or under mixed bulbs can be brought closer to what you intended.

Motion stays as filmed

The performance, the movement and the camera move are meant to be preserved, so the clip still cuts with the footage around it.

One look across many clips

Give clips shot on different days a shared light and colour tone, so they sit together in one edit.

Works on generated video too

A clip you generated with a video model can be relit afterwards, which is cheaper than regenerating it for a different mood.

Where relighting a video earns its place

Talking-head and presenter clips

Soften a harsh key light or warm up a cold room so the person on screen looks the way you meant.

Product and ad footage

Match a set of product shots to one brand look instead of grading each clip by hand.

Travel and lifestyle clips

Push a flat afternoon clip toward golden hour, or cool down a clip that came out orange.

Generated video

Change the time of day or the mood of an AI clip without throwing away the motion you liked.

Social edits

Give a series of clips the same recognisable light so the account feels intentional.

Why lighting a moving clip is harder than lighting a picture

A still image only has to be right once. A clip has to be right for every frame, and the frames have to agree with each other. If the light on a face flickers by a small amount from one frame to the next, the eye reads it instantly as a fault, even when each individual frame looks fine. That is the main thing a good video relight has to solve, and it is why the result deserves to be watched in motion before it is used.

Because the tool keeps the subject and the motion and changes the light, the source clip matters a great deal. Footage with a steady camera, a clear subject and enough resolution gives the model a stable structure to relight. Footage with heavy compression, fast whip pans or a very small subject gives it less to hold on to, and the edges of moving things are where an imperfect relight shows first.

Ask for changes the scene could plausibly support. Warming, cooling, softening or moving a key light are all believable edits. Turning a daylight exterior into a night scene asks the tool to rebuild the environment, and the result will lean further from the original footage.

Plan the edit around the relight. If you intend to colour grade, add titles or upscale, relight first: grading is a decision made on top of the light, and a later relight changes what you graded. Keep the original clip alongside the result, because a relight is a variation, and the right one is often the second or third attempt.

Finally, think about continuity. If a relit clip has to cut against footage that was not relit, compare the two at the cut point and adjust the description until they match, rather than judging the relit clip on its own.

AI video relight FAQ

Does it change the people or the movement in the clip?

It is built to keep the subject, the motion and the camera work as filmed and change the lighting. Play the result through and compare it with the original, especially around faces and moving edges.

How long can the clip be?

It is built for short clips. The accepted formats, length, resolution and file size are shown on the upload step, so you know before you upload whether a clip fits.

How do I describe the lighting I want?

Pick a preset, write a few words of detail, or upload a reference image. Realistic changes such as direction, warmth and softness give the most consistent results.

Can I relight a clip I generated here?

Yes. Anything in your library that fits the clip requirements can be relit, which is often quicker than regenerating a video for a different mood.

What does it cost?

It runs on the same credits as the other tools. The estimated cost is calculated and shown before you submit, so nothing is charged by surprise.
