A new look for the clip you already have

Keep the performance and original sound

The edit changes the visual style while keeping the people, movement, timing and speech of your source. Your clip's own audio stays with the result. Restyled mouth movement can still differ slightly from the original speech.

Choose a preset or create your own

Browse presets by name and category, or create one with a name, reference image and optional style note. Each preset includes a caption style. Your own presets are private to you and can be renamed, edited or deleted.

Decide whether to add captions

Keep captions on to burn the preset's style into the video, or turn them off to remove the caption charge. Spoken language defaults to Auto; you can choose the language spoken in the clip. Captions are not translated or editable here.

Choose the shape, see the price

Choose vertical 9:16 or horizontal 16:9 when the aspect control is available. A different shape reframes the clip without changing the price. Output uses 720p or 1080p based on the source and current tool settings, with the coin total shown before Generate.

Short footage, different styles

Podcast excerpts

Start with an excerpt you have already selected. Keep the speaker's original voice and timing, choose a look and add the preset's captions. Upload the excerpt itself as one short video file.

Educational clips

Give a short explanation a different visual treatment while keeping its spoken lesson. Choose the source language for captions, then review the finished text and download the version without captions if needed.

Vlogs and stories

Restyle a moment from a vlog or story with a preset or a reference image of your own. Add an optional note about anything to change or keep, then check the result alongside your original footage.

News and meme looks

Browse categories such as News, Meme and Viral for the presets currently available. The preset brings together the visual treatment and caption style, so you can select a look without writing a full editing prompt.

Another version of a short

Use Reuse to open Make with the source, preset and settings filled in. Change the look and submit a new paid job. Each successful short is a separate Library video that you can review, favorite or download.

What to expect before you generate

Start with one MP4 or MOV file. The default limits are 3 to 60 seconds and 100 MB; the upload step shows the current limits because these settings can change. Files outside those limits, unsupported formats and clips whose duration cannot be read are rejected before any coins are reserved. If your footage is longer, trim it elsewhere and upload the shorter file. Shorts Maker works with the clip you provide, without selecting highlights from a longer recording.

A preset supplies the look and its caption style. You can browse the available presets before signing in; uploading, generating and creating a preset require an account. To create your own, add a reference image in JPG, PNG or WebP, name the preset and optionally describe the style. The default is one reference image, subject to the current limit. Creating a preset is free; running a video with it is a paid generation.

For longer clips, the tool handles the parts for you. With the default settings, footage up to 10 seconds is restyled in one piece. Longer footage is divided into similar lengths and joined in its original order: a 12 second clip becomes two 6 second parts, while a 60 second clip becomes six 10 second parts. The result follows the original timing. The visual style may vary at joins. A part redone on the backup model may look slightly different.

The Generate button shows the price after the clip has been checked. The total depends on the clip's duration, the output resolution and the preset's caption style. Duration is rounded up to whole seconds for billing. Captions have a fixed charge per job rather than a per-second charge; animated styles use the configured multiplier. Turning captions off removes that charge. The selected aspect ratio does not change the price, and one job covers the whole clip rather than charging separately for each part.

Coins are reserved when you submit and settled when your short is made. If the submitted quote has changed, no coins are reserved: the updated price appears and you can submit again. If a part needs the backup processing path, the total can be recalculated and shown in the tracker. The original reservation is returned and replaced; if your balance cannot cover a higher total, the job finishes at the original quote. A failed or timed-out generation returns all reserved coins.

Captions use the speech already in your clip. The spoken-language control starts at Auto and can be set to the source language; it does not translate the speech. With no audio track, captions are disabled and the result stays silent. If captions still fail after a retry, the short is delivered without them and the caption charge is returned. The result explains what happened. When captions are added, both the captioned and uncaptioned versions are kept for download.

You can leave the tool while it works. The global tracker shows stages such as Preparing your clip, Restyling your clip, Joining the parts and Adding captions when those stages apply. Closing a tab or losing your connection does not cancel the job. An in-app notification opens the result when it is ready. Cancellation before processing begins returns the reserved coins; cancellation after the first part has been sent for processing does not. Disliking the finished look does not qualify for a refund.

Your finished short is saved to Library. Open the result to play it, publish it to Explore, favorite it, rename it or download an MP4 under your plan's watermark rules. When captions were added, choose With captions or Without captions in the download menu. Reuse starts a new paid job with the previous inputs. If the source clip has expired, upload it again; your existing finished short remains available. Publishing here uses Explore, and downloads let you take the video to your own workflow.

AI Shorts Maker FAQ

Which files can I use?

Upload one MP4 or MOV clip. The defaults are a minimum of 3 seconds, a maximum of 60 seconds and a maximum file size of 100 MB. Check the current upload limits in the tool. Paste-a-link uploads and trimming inside the tool are not available.

Does the original audio stay?

Yes. The short keeps the source audio, with the same movement and timing as the original clip. The visual style changes, and restyled mouth movement may not align perfectly with speech. A clip with no audio produces a silent short and skips captions.

Can I switch captions off or translate them?

You can switch captions off and remove their charge. With captions on, the preset supplies the style and Spoken language selects the language already being spoken. This release does not translate or edit caption text. If captions fail after a retry, their charge is returned and you receive the short without them.

What shape and resolution will my short have?

The standard flow offers 9:16 or 16:9, defaulting to your clip's orientation. When reframing is unavailable, the output follows the source. Resolution is selected automatically as 720p or 1080p, based on source size and the configured maximum. Smaller footage is upscaled first. Changing aspect ratio does not change the price.

What happens to footage longer than 10 seconds?

With the default settings, longer clips are split into similar parts, restyled and joined in their original order. One price covers the complete short. Joins can show slight style differences, especially for a part redone on the backup processing path. If any part ultimately fails, the whole job fails and its coins are returned.

Is Shorts Maker free, and when are coins returned?

Generation requires coins; there is no free generation allowance. The button shows the quote before submission. Failed jobs return all reserved coins, while a caption-only failure returns the caption charge. Cancelling before processing begins returns the reservation; cancelling afterwards or disliking the result does not. Reuse creates a new paid job.

Can I leave the page and come back?

Yes. The job continues when you leave, refresh or close the tab. Follow it in the global tracker and open the finished short from the in-app notification or Library. Download an MP4, choose the version without captions when available, or publish the result to Explore.

Can I create and reuse my own look?

Yes. Name a preset, add a reference image, optionally write a style note and select a caption style. Your presets are private and can be edited or deleted. Reuse fills in an earlier job's source and settings for a new paid generation. If that source is no longer available, the tool asks you to upload it again.
